Quand un rappeur joue aux échecs

Rap échecs Darius Benson

Darius Benson

So I cover with the bishop and it look dumb).

[pgn height=400 autoplayMode=none]

  1. d4 d5 2. c4 dxc4 3. Nc3 Be6 4. e4 c6 5. d5 Bd7 *
    [/pgn]

Et voici ce qu’est le (vrai) Système Rausis :

    [pgn height=400 autoplayMode=none]

    1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nf3 dxc4 $5 {Plus tôt que prévu, mais Noir a en tête une suite tricky:} 4. e3 Be6 $1 {Le Système Rausis. En défendant c4, Noir cherche à frustrer les efforts de Blanc qui devra s’efforcer de rétablir l’égalité matérielle.
      Ce coup n’ets pas naturel, il vous faudra habituer votre esprit car le Fou bloque son pion-e.} 5. a4 ({
      Certainly not} 5. Ng5 $4 {, as} Qa5+ {gagne le Cavalier.}) ({l’alternative importante} 5. Nc3 b5 6. a4 {peut mener à des complications, mais jouable} (6. e4
      Nf6) 6… b4 7. Ne4 Nf6 8. Ned2 c3 9. bxc3 bxc3 10. Nc4 g6 {, Noir obtient un jeu solide.}) 5… Nf6 6. Nc3 ({le plus lent} 6. Na3 c5 7. Nxc4 Nc6 8.
      Nce5 {est rencontré par} Bd5 $1 {Le Fou noir obtient un bon avant-poste.}) 6… g6 7.
      Ng5 Bd5 8. e4 h6 9. exd5 hxg5 10. dxc6 Nxc6 11. d5 Na5 12. Bxg5 {S.Ivanov-I.
      Rausis, Narva 1998, and now} Bg7 $1 {donne à Noir une partie très satisfaisante.} *
      [/pgn]

Et enfin, les lyrics (en VO) récupérées sur le Youtube de Darius :

      Les paroles (vo)

I mess with the game that the
masses never got so they bad at it
average never stop getting mad at it
masters never swap with their strategy
      Ain’t no gimme awards
It’s chess it’s less with more it’s war except in its miniature
I’m just a millennial boy but trust me I’m clearing plenty of boards

Now shut up and send me your force
      Time to run one up
      First pawn d4

Oops I can guess what he’s plannin
Bout to open up the queen’s gambit
      d5, c4
Take a pawn to halt the advantage
If you out with the knight then I guess it ain’t right for my lonely pawn to be stranded

So I cover with the bishop and it look dumb
But if he push with the pawn and it knocks me off then it’s not been a loss cause I took some
At least that was the thought

He went a full e4 with the next, got the king bishop looking at my stretch
Plus a couple bad twins walking down the center stage line so I went c6 to protect

      Pawn d5, bishop go back
Gotta play defense when you pick a slow tact
And it didn’t make sense when they went f3
Probably got something planned but I didn’t know what

Took d5 tryna get the board back
Knight took it back, we can afford that
Pawn up to b5 to cover my stretch pawn I bet he regret that he ignored that

Bishop E 2 getting out the way for the castle
Pawn hassling his knight so he taking it backwards
Took a five step jump, pinned his knight with his king
His bishop hopped in between, I was just causing a scene to get my own

Home free and my castle on, and I hoped he wasn’t catching on to my hoax sweep
Started off slowly but had to buy some time to get to where I’m supposed to be
Switched up flew down close to me
All in my grill encroaching me
Tryna take my knight for the low or free I can’t risk it

B 4 drop back down with the quickness
E pawn gunning for the knight like I mentioned
Jumped out the way with the knight and my queen’s still safe cause caught that clutch reposition

      G5 hot so he A-ttack
      Queen on d8 take back
Pawn got neat with a sneak on the d4 knight so we leap to the H stack

      Cross em up
He feeling d4 so he toss em up tryna boss em up
Throw the knight at the queen I wonder if he’s been overexposed, it’s possible

He move to f4 so that e5 continues to be an obstacle
I’m on opposite court making my side fit as can be wash it off

Got the f rook slid over to the d column
F pawn launch, that’s another piece problem
En passant and he thinking he fancy
But this rook bout to send the queen dancing

      Psych
Queen to c7 with d7 to go
Bishop needs backup or we letting it go
Rook stepped up ready for whatever in store
E5 looking right but it’s better to go c5

With the lock on the f2 look with the queen and a rook
      He shook
Kinda late for the d7 take but I guess he took
      Good looks
      Rook snatch off of d8
Took back with the queen take

Took that opportunity to swipe the knight from e5
      That’s free prize
White queen think she wise d8 no surprise
      Girl you tried
Rook in the way so it hopped back right there past g5
      I see why
Tryna keep an eye on the f2 spot, that’s a nice tact, but
I’m about to make where it’s at too hot, tell me how you like that

      Knight g6
Be pissed if he went g3
He missed it and went e4
I risked it and took f2
That’s nice but I’m gonna need more

I could cover two pawns with the knight
He got a left rook looking for a fight
Pushed off skipped back to the right
Running out of time ain’t taking all night

Speaking of the knight, now he gone
Tryna plot schemes on my network
But I could see him looking at my e pawn
Took back with the queen and it’s check first

He gotta be careful, I’ll check him again if he move it back
But that’s what I prepared for so we traded queens as simple as that

He sent out a prayer stepping up to the rook with the king, a flanking attack
I pushed up with the pawn, I don’t know what you were thinking you ain’t doing that
Made a reach with the knight, but I’m flipping the script, that ain’t gonna track
Pulling up to your spot, the knight gotta dip, I’m making him pack

E7 to check, he pressing my scene, I’m taken aback
F7 to threat, I may be the king but I’ll make you a snack
Back bugging the rook man I’m tired of watching you fake an attack
Face it you gotta do more than running around to make it match

You a fish on the hook already in the boat, stop it you look lame
Compared to you I’m a book brain, you bout as lethal as a foot sprain
Sit tight cause I’m bout to show you just what I mean when I said that I took names
F5 with the knight f3 with the king f4 with the rook, game

I mess with the game that the
masses never got so they bad at it
average never stop getting mad at it
masters never swap with their strategy
      Ain’t no gimme awards
It’s chess, it’s elegant linear war except in its miniature
I’m just a millennial boy but trust me I’m clearing plenty of boards
